In Dallas at the 2015 Texas EMS Conference
JEMS Editor-in-Chief is at the Texas EMS Conference and wanted to give you a visual tour of the exhibit hall during his first day at the conference.
Texas, long a leader in EMS and EMS innovation, continues to impress A.J. and Texas EMS attendees.
Joseph Schmider, Texas State EMS Director, Office of EMS/Trauma System, a close friend of A.J.’s and a respected EMS leader, left his leadership role as Director of the Pennsylvania Office of EMSÂ to take the leadership role in Texas because he has children that reside in the Austin area.
A.J. says Schmider is a great gift to Texas EMS and attendees and EMS leaders he spoke to on Sunday confirm that. His progressive and cooperative style is apparent working well because Texas EMS continues to advance and assume leadership roles in several areas, particularly in the area of disaster and infectious disease response resources. Â
Many of the Texas Emergency Task Force Vehicles, Shelters, and other specialized equipment items are on display in the exhibit hall. The resources are spread throughout Texas  and designed to be interconnected into a massive medical city if and when necessary (See photos that follow)
