I thought I would take the time to upload a ton of images from today’s American Ambulance Association “Stars of Life†luncheon at the National Press Club.
There’s only so much time in a day for my great JEMS team to resize and post photos on the Web. But – after attending the luncheon today and getting emails from award winners and their friends, asking if JEMS had other photos from the event, I decided to post them on my Blog.
They deserve it because – getting a Stars of Life award is a big deal and I think more of you should get one, and more services and ambulance associations should nominate their staff.
I shot a lot of great photos and wanted to post and share them with you.
I tried to take one of every “Star” but I’m sure I missed a few and, for that, I will offer a big apology and try to capture them at Tuesdays banquet.
But for now, enjoy what I did capture.
The photos that follow will not all be captioned. My intent is to “bring you to the event”, let you see and feel the excitement – and congratulate all the winners.
We will post all their names and EMS agencies on JEMS.com after the Banquet that will occur Tuesday night (April 11th) so you will be able to see the scope of this great event.
JEMS is proud to be the exclusive Media Sponsor for this event and thrilled to be able to give recognition to anyone who goes above and beyond the call of duty in EMS – because those out in the trenches and in the back offices of EMS organizations get little thanks for what they do.

Marc Creswell from Acadian Ambulance, a 2007 Star of Life Award recipient himself, addressed the award winners and inspired them with leadership pearls from his career.
Having served on, and being in charge of, Acadian Ambulance Services’ famed AirMed helicopter and fixed wing service, particularly during Hurricane Katrina, massive oil rig explosions and a horrific active shooter event at a Louisiana Movie Theater, Creswell recounted lessons he has learned and his zest for EMS. Quoting some famous general and world leaders, he told the audience and award winners that you have to think outside the box and often go off the map a bit to get things done during major incidents. He received a standing ovation at the completion of his keynote address.
